Washington Mutual's Credit Card Policies
Otherwise known as WAMU by those that do business with them.

 
I have really liked this bank for my personal and Business Checking account. I recently considered getting a credit card from them because I figured it would follow along with their high standards of treating their customers right and with complete fairness. I was disappointed to find out they are really one of the worst. Below is the email that I sent  to WAMU expressing my opinions. And I know they really could care less but I feel its worth doing anyway. Ill post any replies I get below. I have also learned that their fraud department is considered less then steller by some individuals.

 
"You know over the years I have had numerous banks but have stayed with WAMU because I felt it was the best. I was even thinking of getting a Visa card through them when you apparently read my thoughts and sent me one. BUT when I read the terms and conditions I was very disappointed to find that you guys are engaging in all the legal dishonesty that PBS reported that the big banks were doing. In particular raising the interest rate because of a default or late payment to another lender. To slap me in the face for being loyal to you (wamu) is not nice. If I have limited funds and should choose to pay my wamu visa or MasterCard should not get me a penalty from WAMU when I'm late on another card. I will be posting this on my website for users to know who not to do business with. And I will be going with my capital one 60 day plan that does not penalize me for being late with another card plus gives me 60 days to pay. For Shame WAMU. I'm still looking for a totally honest credit card."
